Wave Vessel III

Wheel-thrown in black clay and built up by hand with hundreds of individual clay "scales", each applied one at a time across the surface. Inspired by the movement of water, the overlapping forms evoke the rhythm of waves, while layers of glaze follow the scaled areas, enhancing the sense of movement and fluidity, and contrasting with the raw clay left exposed.
